Each homework assignment is due at 11:59 PM ET on the due date (which will be either a Monday or Wednesday), unless otherwise specified. You must submit a PDF copy online on Gradescope, unless otherwise specified. Gradescope can be accessed through Canvas.
All assignments must be typeset using LaTeX. We provide a customized LaTeX template for each homework that you must use. We recommend using Overleaf to typeset your solutions. Some helpful LaTeX guides can be found under Resources.
When submitting to Gradescope, you must select the correct pages for each question using the "Assign Questions and Pages" tool. If you do not do this, 5 points will be deducted from your homework score.
If you submit multiple solutions for a problem, only the first one will be graded.
Regrades are accepted until 5:00 PM ET the Friday after the homework is returned to you. When considering a regrade request, we will consider the question holistically. This means that your grade may be adjusted up or down depending on its merits.
Regrades will be submited through Gradescope. You must have a TA endorse your regrade request at office hours prior to the request. Please include which TA endorsed the request when submitting; unendorsed regrade requests will not be considered. Regrades will not be endorsed over Ed.
We will not accept late homework under any circumstances. If you will be missing school for an extended period of time due to severe illness, please notify the professor.
We will allow you to drop two homeworks assigned on a Tuesday and two homeworks assigned on a Thursday (two 'T' homeworks and two 'H' homeworks). If you will be missing school for an extended period of time due to severe and prolonged illness, please notify the professor.
You do not need to notify anyone about which homeworks you are choosing to drop. We will automatically drop the two lowest scoring grades for both 'T' and 'H' homeworks (missing submissions will count as a 0).
Note that dropping two T homework and two H homework is equivalent to dropping two full weeks of homework. In pre-Covid semesters, the drop policy allowed students to drop one T homework and one H homework. The additional drop is intended to provide a cushion in case of contracting Covid. Please do not use these drops unnecessarily and strive to only use them in times of illness.
