Penn Emerging Scholars Program (PESP)
Do you like computer science and/or math, but are unsure that they’re the right fit for you?
Are you interested in working with like-minded peers in small groups on interesting problems?
Then the Penn Emerging Scholars Program (PESP) may be for you!
The Penn Emerging Scholars Program (PESP) is an opportunity for Penn students interested in math and/or computer science to work in small groups for 90 minutes a week for 8 weeks during the semester and and complete logical and algorithmic problems with Peer Leaders.
PESP is not for credit and there are no projects, tests, homework or at-home programming. Additionally, we serve food at our workshops every week! The only stipulation is that you must attend every workshop unless you have a great excuse. A limited number of students will be selected for this workshop.
There are two PESP workshops. One on Mondays from February 25th through April 22nd from 5:00 to 6:30 PM in 307 Levine and a second workshop series on Thursdays from February 21st through April 18th from 5 to 6:30 PM in 307 Levine. The workshop series will end with a reunion party on April 25th that includes former PESP participants, undergraduate peer leaders, faculty and invited guests.
